This is the official site for the Meteorological Office, they supply the BBC with their weather information.This site has :

This is part of the NOAA site. Excellent images on OZONE HOLES.

Satellite images are available here. This site also has "Image of the Day". You can subscribe to this with youir email address to receive a Satellite Image every day from around the world.

This is the NOAA site. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, it is American but a good source of information. There is a "HOT TOPIC" section that has information on Earthquakes, El Nino, Floods, Hurricanes, Natural Hazards, Tornadoes, Tsunamis and Volcanoes.

VULTURE FUNDS
The GUARDIAN on Saturday 11th March, had an article on Vulture Funds. A good INTRODUCTION to the topic is here. BBC Newsnight ran a feature on the issue.
The JUBILEE DEBT CAMPAIGN is an organisation fighting this injustice. There are also good articles on the CHRISTIAN AID site and the OXFAM site.

Hurricane TRACKER
This is the TROPICAL STORM RISK site. It is for the Insurance Industry but the HOME page has a map showing where storms are at present. Above the map is a table showing active storms, by clicking on the system name you will be taken to a map of the track and geographical information. You can also sign up for email alerts for storms.
Rich and Poor
These 2 photographs show the contrast between rich and poor areas of a city. The first picture is of Caracas Venezuela. The second photograph is of Sao Paulo, Brazil. The difference between Rich and Poor is stark.
